Eight Limbs Of Yoga

The Eight Limbs of Yoga
There are so many sides of yoga that many aren’t aware of. When most people think of yoga, they think of mat work, the poses. Yoga is a system, you actually don’t do yoga, you live it. It’s who you are and become. There are branches or limbs that make up the system of yoga as a whole. We will be learning about each one and how it will affect our life and our practice.

The first limb is the Yamas - moral disciplines or moral vows
• Ahimsa: nonviolence
• Satya: truthfulness
• Asteya: non-stealing
• Brahmacharya: moderation
• Aparigraha: generosity

The second limb is the Niyamas - Positive duties or observances
• Saucha: cleanliness
• Samtosa: contentment
• Tapas: heat; spiritual austerities
• Svadhyaya: study of the sacred scriptures and of one's self
• Isvara pranidhana: surrender to God or the Universe

The third limb is the Asanas - Posture or poses

The fourth limb is Pranayama - Breathwork

The fifth limb is Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses

The sixth limb is Dharana - Concentration or focus

The seventh limb is Dhyana - Meditation

The eighth limb is Samadhi - Enlightenment or bliss

Exchange: $10 or included with monthly membership or pass

Kusudama Balls (Japanese Medicine Balls)
Sunday, April 10th, 2022 at 3 - 5 pm

Picture
Would you like to learn how to make a Japanese medicine ball, also known as a kusudama ball. Artist, Lori Gearhart will be teaching us how to make these beautiful and elegant paper balls. You will also be able to choose the colors, add a tassel and potpourri.

Refreshments will be provided.

The Japanese kusudama (薬玉; lit. medicine ball) is a paper model that is usually (although not always) created by sewing multiple identical pyramidal units (usually stylized flowers folded from square paper) together through their points to form a spherical shape. Alternately the individual components may be glued together. (e.g. the kusudama in the lower photo is entirely glued, not threaded together) Occasionally, a tassel is attached to the bottom for decoration. (from Wikipedia)

Gebiya Sacred Gong Immersion Meditation
Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 6 - 8 pm

Picture
Join Christopher and Rachel at The Healing Lily Yoga & Wellness located at 1010 Route 390
Mountain Home, PA 18342 for a GEBIYA SACRED GONG IMMERSION ..

An evening of wonderful Gong sounds while you journey and travel through your own Inner landscape. A Gong Immersion is ideal for clearing nerve-endings and for re-establishing the healthy relationship between the parasympathetic (ruled by sound) and sympathetic nervous system (ruled by vision). It also enables the brain to become efficient in producing Theta and Delta waves whilst decreasing cortisol levels. Something that infants and children do very well.
Just like the tones it produces, the experience it induces is different every time. There are some periods of crescendos or layers of sound that you will experience deep vibrations cleansing & healing, along with low tones that may be experienced at a cellular level. While the Gongs are played they will immerse your senses in a total body vibration. Nadis (energy pathways) are stimulated and rejuvenated and Chakras are easily accessed and aligned, removing stress from the energy body.
The Gong will offer you a cosmic, vibrational, healing connection between your energy, the energy below (Mother Earth) and the energy above (the Cosmic World). You will experience low vibrations, pulses and the Music of the Spheres, the Sound of the Universe, while you immerse yourself in the groups Union of Vibration. This experience is also great for insomnia, anxiety, depression, overactivity, and more ..
Lay down and be prepared to be taken away in this total body, sound-bath Gong Immersion.

Please Contact Danielle to reserve your spot at 570-216-0501
Exchange: $30 per person
-Bring a yoga mat, pillow & blanket (or one will be provided) since we will be laying on the floor for this meditation (or you can choose to sit in a chair)
